Our infamous Editor-in-Chief, Ethel has been spearheading Dankness Below since our inception in 2018 and has been a formidable force in British caving news ever since. Often referred to as the most litigated against individual since Ian Hislop, Ethel brings a real sense of carnage to the DB HQ and represents our core values every day.

Tony Throttlewank

Second in command as our Senior Journalist, Tony joined us in early 2019 and has been a stalwart shit-poster ever since. His previous days at Blackness Underneath put him in poor stead for the complexity of our work - but we didn't care, we nicked him anyway.

Sandy Rift

Sandy has been with us from the very beginning. After joining us part-time whilst studying the final year of her BSc in Shitposting Science at Sheffield University, she took a 2 year hiatus from journalism to dig full-time in P8. Ultimately deciding this was a complete waste of effort, she returned to us in 2020 and we hope to retain her skillset for many years to come.

Paddy Locke - Cornish based mine explorer and esteemed journalist. Paddy is an essential member of the DB team providing coverage of mine exploration related issues both in Cornwall and throughout the UK.

Doug A. Crack - Hailing from Shepton Mallet, Doug started out working for our sister new site Dimness Further Down before moving on to more serious journalism. We're pleased to have him on board!
